Hi Joelle! Thanks so much for joining us. What a good question! I wish we could have gotten to it.
I would say the main danger in women’s ministry in the local church is straying from God’s word. There are so many important ministries, like fellowship, counseling, hospitality, meeting physical needs. But the foundation of all of things must be the word of God or we can end up pointing women to ourselves or just practically instead of Christ.
I think this means that we must be very intentional in delighting in Scripture and pointing others to it. Our ministry needs to be proclaiming the message of Christ crucified and raised as the reason for our fellowship and hospitality, the answer when we’re counseling, and the motivation for meeting needs.
What do you view as some of the possible dangers/pitfalls that can occur within women’s ministry? Also, how can one avoid those dangers?
